Due to OVERWHELMING enthusiasm for the New Years event, as promised, it's a 2nd 2010 Retreat!
Sylvie's Sparkle of Spring Retreat
May 14-16, 2010
Ellijay, Georgia (approximately 1 hour North of Atlanta)
The retreat will be held at "The Scrapbook Lodge" which is a beautiful facility created specifically for craft retreats! It will be totally ours for the weekend which means it's basically one big beady slumber-party! (click here for pictures of the accomodations)
Here's the scoop....
Friday, May 14th - arrive and get settled in, shop. We will "party" the night away enjoying a delicious buffet, beading, chick-flicks, door-prizes and testing out the cabin's very own margarita machine!
Saturday/Sunday, May 15-16 - The Halo Neckpiece. This is Sylvie's most shimmery sparkling project. It's a project that can be worn more than one way...with or without the angel centerpiece and can be made as a bracelet or a necklace. Of Sylvie's projects, this is the one she WEARS all the time and never ceases to get compliments. This project is a great entry level project for new beaders, but will be just as fun for advanced beaders due to the intricate embellishment AND fact that advanced beaders will most likely finish the project at the retreat!!
You will also have a private trunk-show of Sylvie's beads and kits
(prior to Bead and Button where her selection is its very best!) as
well as the full collection (over 150 colors) of Saybeads size 15/0
seed-beads at your fingertips!
The cost for the weekend is $350*. This includes 2 days of classes, Halo Neckpiece kit, 2 nights of lodging (single beds in a "dorm-room" style - see below for pricing options for rooms) and a portion of your food**. Your transportation to the Lodge and any additional shopping* are not included in the price.
PLEASE NOTE: Total will include a $5 "shipping" charge which I can't over-ride for some reason, so I've adjusted all the regular prices down $5 to accommodate that charge. Sorry it's confusing.
Food - at the suggestion of the New Year's Bead Divas, in order to keep costs lower, this retreat's food will be handled differently. It will be a modified pot-luck. 2-3 people will be assigned a meal and will be in charge of providing the meal for the group, serving it and cleaning up afterwards. Should someone wish to just relax and not bring/prep/serve food, they can pay a "stand-in-chef" fee of $50 and someone else will do the work for them! Sylvie will provide all the non-alcoholic beverages for the weekend (soda, tea, juice, milk, coffee), but you are welcome to bring any adult beverages of your choice.
More details on food/beverages will be given upon registration. If you are interested in the "stand-in-chef" option, details on that will also be provided with registration.
* In order to make things easier for people to choose room-mates and to avoid unnecessary confusion at arrival, I've priced each bed separately room by room and offered some new options/incentives. Room 1 is downstairs. Rooms 2, 3 and the Loft are upstairs. I am offering a discount to any 2 students who wish to share a full-sized lower bunk in Room 1 because it gives me another space to sell to students. If you take this option, please have your bunk-mate register at the same time so that I can remove the option of purchasing the other spot in the bed OR the whole bed to someone else. (I hope this makes sense, if it doesn't please let me know and I'll be happy to clarify)
